Youth Convention 2026
SMYM YOUTH CONVENTION
2026 DETAILSREGISTER HERE!Pay for ConventionDonate to the youth fund TLDR Youth Convention is November 20–21. Register and submit payment by November 1 to avoid the $25 late fee. First-time Convention guests attend for half price ($60). Departure is Friday at 2:00 p.m. sharp from Commission Church. Bring a signed waiver, a physical Bible, a notebook, and review the packing list before you arrive. Sign up for text updates and complete all parent checklist items before departure: register, pay, submit your waiver, and pack according to the list above. North Texas Youth Ministries
Youth Alive Director Jackson, in his heart of hearts, is a revivalist. He has witnessed moments of revival within youth ministry and on the campus, but is believing for the fullness of it across North Texas. He is a campus missionary to sports teams, lunch rooms, and has helped plant Bible clubs in one of the largest high schools in America. Through his ministry, Jackson has seen unchurched students saved, baptized, and healed! Our schools are the spiritual battleground of the nation, “If we lose there, we lose everywhere else.” His desire is to train, develop, and send out youth pastors who’s hearts would be broken for the campus, so revival would invade schools in every community through the church! FAQ: Can my student invite a friend? Absolutely! In fact, we encourage it. Students attending Convention for the first time receive 50% off registration, making the cost just $60. What if my family can't afford Convention? We never want finances to keep a student from encountering God. Scholarship assistance is available. Complete the Scholarship Application linked above, and we'll work with you to make sure your student can attend. When is payment due? Convention payment is due by November 1. Beginning November 2, a $25 late fee will be added. Where do we meet for departure? Meet at Commission Church on Friday, November 20. We will depart promptly at 2:00 p.m., so please arrive a few minutes early. What time will we return? We expect to return to Commission Church on Saturday, November 21, between 5:00–6:00 p.m. Parents will receive text updates if our arrival time changes. How will I receive updates while my student is away? We'll send important updates through our church texting system throughout the trip. Text "youthcon26" to 833-270-5922 to subscribe. What if my student takes medication? Please give all medications directly to Ps. Abram before departure. Include clear instructions and any equipment needed for administration. Will meals be provided? Yes. Meals are included with registration. Do parents need to sign anything? Yes. Every student must have a completed waiver before departure. Please download, complete, and bring it with you on Friday. What should my student bring for spending money? Spending money is completely optional. Students may want money for the snack shop, merchandise, or other optional purchases during the weekend. SMYM Merch is always available at the convention and is very popular with our students!

Save the Date: KC Day of Hope
Sign up to serve Last year, several of us helped out with the KC Day of Hope in 2025. We would love even more of us to join in the effort to bring hope to some of the people in Kansas City this coming September, on September 19th. Dozens of churches and non-profits are partnering together in collaboration with Convoy of Hope to give the residents of Kansas City a glimmer of hope in a dark world. We're going to be offering a kid zone with inflatables, a prayer tent, free haircuts and family portraits, community resources, food distribution, clothing distribution, and other activities for the Kansas City area. Kansas City, MO 64138 Time: Doors Open / Check-in: 9:30am sharp Opening Ceremonies: 10:00am sharp (You really don’t want to miss this so we recommend arriving between 9:30 and 9:45am to give yourself time to find parking and get your crew checked in.) WHAT TO EXPECT 📰 A fun event for the whole family! Activities for all ages such as volleyball, rap battles, wheel of fortune, bounce houses, and a relay race - to name a few. A hotdog and hamburger lunch provided by the church - served at 11:30am. An earlier end time. Camp Day ‘26 will be wrapped by 1pm. All events will be outside if the weather permits. Arrive between 9:30am-9:45am to check in and participate in our pre-event hype games (maybe to earn extra points for your team...) COST 💰 NONE! This is a free event. TEAM COLOR 💜💙💚 When you sign up to attend Camp Day ‘26 you will be assigned to a color team. So, when you sign up for Camp Day you’ll want to give us an email address that you check regularly. FAQs ❔ Q. Can I invite my friends, family, and/or neighbor? A. Absolutely! Just make sure they sign up or you sign them up so that we can plan for them. Q. What if I sign up to come but then a scheduling conflict arises and I can’t come anymore? A. Please notify Ps. Micaiah ASAP so that we can readjust our teams and our headcount for food. Q. What if I forget my water bottle at home? A. No worries! We will have some plastic water bottles and Gatorade available for you. Q. I have a pre-school age child. Will there be something for them / who would be overseeing their section of the event? A. Yes! We will have volunteers that have cleared background checks and that work in our pre-school rooms at church running that part of the event. We have an art station and well-supervised bounce houses for them to play on. Q. I don’t really want to run around, will there be something for me to do? A. Of course! We have Wheel of Fortune and other card games ready for you. Q. Will there be a dessert competition this year? A. No, there will not be. However, you can still sign up to bring a dessert to share with others - in fact - we would love that! Q. How long will the event run? A. Doors open and check-in starts at 9:30am and we will end at 1pm. Q. What if it rains? A. We will move the event inside and our games and schedule will be adjusted accordingly.

Sign up for GriefShare GriefShare | Find Hope in the Midst of Grief You don't have to walk through grief alone. Grief is one of the hardest journeys we'll ever face. Whether you've lost a spouse, parent, child, sibling, family member, or close friend, grief has a way of affecting every part of life. Some days the weight feels overwhelming. Other days you wonder why everyone else seems to have moved on while you're still carrying the loss. Grief can leave us asking difficult questions. Is what I'm feeling normal? Will life ever feel whole again? Where is God in the middle of my pain? If you've asked those questions, you're not alone. At Commission Church, we believe God never intended for us to carry our burdens by ourselves. One of the ways we experience His comfort is through the encouragement, support, and presence of other believers. GriefShare exists to provide a safe place where you can process your grief, learn healthy ways to navigate loss, and discover the hope that Jesus offers, even in life's darkest seasons. What is GriefShare? GriefShare is a 13-week, Christ-centered grief support group for adults who have experienced the death of someone they love. Each weekly meeting combines biblical teaching, practical guidance, and meaningful discussion with others who understand what you're experiencing. Every session is designed to help you process grief honestly while pointing you toward the hope found in Christ. One of the unique features of GriefShare is that each session is self-contained. If you miss a week or join after the group has already begun, you can still participate without feeling behind. Whether your loss happened recently or many years ago, you are welcome. What You Can Expect Each Monday evening you'll experience: Biblical encouragement rooted in God's Word. Video teaching from trusted grief counselors and pastors. Honest discussion with others walking through similar experiences. Practical tools for navigating grief in everyday life. A compassionate, confidential environment where you can share as much or as little as you're comfortable with. Light snacks and refreshments. You won't be pressured to speak, and you won't be expected to have everything figured out. Simply come as you are. Topics We'll Explore Together Throughout the 13 weeks, we'll walk through subjects including: Week 1: Is This Normal? Each participant is encouraged to have their own workbook, as it contains valuable exercises, notes, and resources to use throughout the week. While the workbook is highly recommended, it is not required to participate. Frequently Asked Questions Is this only for people who recently experienced a loss? No. Many people attend months or even years after losing someone they love. Grief doesn't follow a schedule, and healing often begins whenever we're ready to take the next step. What if I don't know anyone? Many participants attend their first meeting without knowing anyone else. GriefShare is designed to help you connect with others who understand the unique challenges of loss. Do I have to share my story? Prayer Service and Youth Time Change
TLDR Commission Youth and our Midweek Prayer Gathering now both meet starting at 6:30pm. We’re moving to a later time to better serve working individuals, families, and parents dropping off students for youth. Our prayer gathering is becoming a more structured and interactive experience with guided prayer, worship, and community connection. Midweek Is Changing at Commission Church Starting next Wednesday, both Commission Youth and our Midweek Prayer Gathering will meet from 6:30. For a while now, we’ve recognized that our previous 5:30pm start time created challenges for many families and working individuals trying to get across the city after work, school, practices, and dinner. We want midweek ministry to be accessible, life-giving, and realistic for the people we’re trying to serve. This adjustment creates space for more people to participate in both youth ministry and prayer together. A Better Rhythm for Families Commission Youth will continue meeting every Wednesday night, but now with an earlier start time. At the same time, we are intentionally relaunching and reshaping our Midweek Prayer Gathering into a more structured and meaningful experience. For many parents, Wednesday nights often become a drop-off and pick-up routine or a waiting period filled with unstructured dead time. We want to create an opportunity for those moments to become spiritually meaningful, too. Instead of simply waiting, parents and adults can now gather together for prayer, connection, worship, and encouragement while students are in youth service. Why Prayer Matters + A Real Story One of the things we love about prayer gatherings is how they connect real life to real faith. Alison S. is a great example of this. Many times, she has come into prayer carrying burdens from conversations she had with coworkers earlier that same day. Her coworkers know she belongs to a praying community. They know there are people who will stand with them in prayer. Many times a month, she comes with their requests because she has built a reputation for caring for her co-workers. That’s the kind of culture we want to continue building at Commission Church. A place where people know they are not alone.
