Free Trunk or Treat in South Kansas City 🎃 Looking for a fun, free, and family-friendly way to celebrate Halloween in Kansas City? Join us at Commission Church on Saturday, October 31 for Trunk or Treat! TLDR 🎃 Free Trunk or Treat: Saturday, October 31 from 4-6pm at Commission Church in South Kansas City. 🍬 Bring the kids: Come in costume and enjoy decorated trunks, plenty of candy, and family-friendly Halloween fun. ❤️ Everyone is invited: You don’t have to attend Commission Church. Cost: FREE! Come dressed in your favorite costume, bring something to collect your candy in, and make your way through our parking lot of decorated trunks. Everyone is welcome, so invite your friends, neighbors, and family! 🍬 What Is Trunk or Treat? Trunk or Treat is trick-or-treating all in one place! Volunteers decorate the trunks of their vehicles and hand out candy as kids make their way around the parking lot. It’s an easy way for families to enjoy Halloween together and connect with other families in our community. 🤔 What to Expect You can expect plenty of candy, decorated trunks, costumes, and family-friendly fun for kids of all ages. And yes, it’s completely free. You do not have to attend Commission Church to participate. This event is for our community, and we’d love to have you join us! This event is geared toward kids up to 6th grade. ❤️ Why We Do It At Commission Church, our mission is to commission and mobilize passionate followers of Jesus to encounter God, connect with others, and impact our world. Sometimes impacting our world looks as simple as opening our parking lot, meeting our neighbors, giving away a ridiculous amount of candy, and creating a place where families can have fun together. Help Us Care for Our Church Home
TLDR Help us mow: We’re looking for 8 men to serve about 2–3 hours once a month, helping mow or weed-eat our church property. Join Upkeep Day: Our All Church Upkeep Day is Saturday, October 10, from 8:00–11:00 a.m. Sign up so we can plan projects and assignments. Our property is part of our ministry: Hundreds of our South Kansas City neighbors visit our campus, including 500–1,000 voters during the August election. Caring for our property helps us provide a clean, safe, and welcoming place for our community.JOIN THE MOWING TEAMSIGN UP FOR ALL CHURCH UPKEEP DAY Help Us Care for Our Church Home Our church property is more than the place where we gather on Sundays. It’s one of the ways we serve and welcome our neighbors in South Kansas City. This year, Commission Church was contracted by the Kansas City Election Board to serve as a polling location for three elections, giving our neighbors in South Kansas City and the Highview Estates neighborhood a convenient place to cast their ballots. During the August election alone, somewhere between 500 and 1,000 people walked through our doors to vote. We expect just as many, if not more, to visit our campus for the November general election. For some of those neighbors, it may be their first time ever stepping onto our property. That’s one reason caring for our church home matters. A clean, safe, and well-maintained property helps us create a welcoming environment for everyone who comes through our doors. Whether they’re attending worship, bringing their children to an event, voting, or simply living in the neighborhood around us, we want our campus to reflect the care we have for our community. Our property is a resource God has entrusted to us, and taking care of it helps us use it as a conduit of His love to our neighbors. This fall, there are two ways you can help. 1. Join Our Mowing Team We’re looking for eight men who can help us care for the church grounds on a simple monthly rotation. Our goal is to have two men serve each week: One person mowing a portion of the church property One person weed-eating a portion of the church property Approximately 2–3 hours of serving Each volunteer serves approximately once per month With eight men sharing the responsibility, we can keep our property looking great without placing the entire workload on just a few people. If you’re willing to give a few hours once a month, we’d love to have you on the team.JOIN THE MOWING TEAM 2. All Church Upkeep Day Not interested in mowing? There are plenty of other ways to help! On Saturday, October 10, we’re inviting our entire church family to spend a morning together caring for our campus. 📅 Saturday, October 10

📍 Commission Church Here are some of the things we have to do this fall: Cut down several dead trees Remove an old fence Clear our property line of invasive shrubs and trees Repair roof shingles Prepare the church for the coming winter months There’s a job for just about everyone, so you don’t need to be particularly handy to participate. Please sign up ahead of time. Knowing how many people are coming will help us prepare projects, supplies, and job assignments before everyone arrives.SIGN UP FOR ALL CHURCH UPKEEP DAY Why It Matters Hundreds of people who don’t regularly attend Commission Church will walk onto our property this fall. We have an opportunity to welcome them before anyone ever says a word. A cared-for property communicates that this place matters, the people who come here matter, and our neighborhood matters. Whether you commit to a few hours each month on the mowing team or join us for one Saturday morning in October, you’re helping Commission Church steward what God has given us and use it to impact our world right here in South Kansas City.

Giving Update: Credit/Debit Fee Increase
GiveUpdate to ACH TLDR Beginning in October, credit/debit card processing increases from 1.9% to 2.3%. ACH remains just $0.25 per transaction with no percentage-based processing fee. If you currently give by card, consider clicking Update to ACH. Why this matters: Over the past 3 years of using ACH giving instead of my credit or debit card, I have saved over $350 in fees going to the credit card company. That is almost enough to cover one of the missionaries I support for a whole year. By making this small change, more of my money goes to ministry and not fees! Let’s go even further... so far this year (2026) almost $50,000 has been given online via Credit/Debit Card. That means our givers have paid out of their own pocket almost $1,000 in fees. Had everyone used ACH instead of Credit Card, they would have collectively paid $87.50 in fees for almost $50,000 in giving. $1,000 vs. $87.50 That is the difference we are talking about! The Change: Beginning in October 2026, there will be a small change to the processing fees for gifts made by credit or debit card through our online giving platform. Card processing rates will increase from 1.9% to 2.3%. That’s an increase of just $0.40 for every $100 given by card. This change is being made by the card processing provider. It is not a fee being added by Commission Church or Nucleus. Nucleus is our church web partner. They are committed to making sure churches and christians keep the most of their gifts. The Good News: ACH Isn’t Changing! Giving directly from your Bank Account through ACH will continue to have no percentage-based processing fee, with only a $0.25 transaction fee. That makes ACH the most cost-effective way to give online, especially for those who give regularly. Here’s Your Next Step If you currently give by credit or debit card, consider switching your giving method to ACH bank account giving. You can still give by card after the change takes effect. We simply want to encourage our church family to use ACH whenever possible so that processing costs stay as low as possible and more of every gift can support the ministry and mission of Commission Church. If you already give through ACH, you’re all set. Fall Semester Guide
All the things you need to know for the fall semester at Commission Youth. How to access our calendar: On our main youth page (commissionchurchkc.com/youth), you'll find a calendar with all our youth events and details for each one. That calendar is the best place to find information about our weekly Commission Youth service and any extra activities and events that we are planning to have. Some events may have a post connected to them which provides even more detailed information about the event itself. Big events like Youth Camp and Youth Convention will always have a corresponding post providing all the essential information. Links to those posts will be found in the event description or directly in the post hub of our website. Messages this Fall: This fall, we will focus each Wednesday largely on the Gospels and stories of Jesus. Fall Speed the Light Offering
Fall 2026 Speed the Light CampaignGive to STLLearn about Brad Keller TLDR TLDR We're raising $1,000 by December 31 to help provide a future replacement vehicle for our Missouri Youth Alive missionary, Brad Keller. Through Brad's ministry, more than 2,000 Missouri students have given their lives to Jesus, and your generosity helps him continue equipping students to reach students. Pray for Brad and Missouri schools, then click Give to STL to help us reach our goal. Why We're Giving Every week, thousands of Missouri students walk into schools without a relationship with Jesus. Youth Alive exists to change that. Brad Keller serves as OUR Missouri's Youth Alive missionary, equipping students, churches, and schools to share the gospel on campus through student-led ministries, evangelism, and discipleship. Brad’s truck has over 200,000 miles on it and is beginning to show signs of retirement. We are raising money so that when the time comes, STL can purchase him a new one! Meet Brad Keller Brad is the Youth Alive missionary for Missouri. If you haven’t met him, you’ve most likely heard him, “GLORY!” His heart is for student discipleship and campus missions. Through his partnership with the local church, he has helped start a movement to raise up thousands of student missionaries around Missouri. He loves working alongside Pastors and Youth Pastors and is here to help your church reach your public school. Brad ministered to Ps. Abram when he was in youth at Youth Camp and Pastor’s Kid events! On Wednesday, September 23, instead of our regular Wednesday night youth service, we’re going to watch the Kansas City Royals take on the Chicago White Sox! 🎟️ Tickets We have 12 free tickets available for Commission Youth students. Tickets will be claimed on a first-come, first-served basis, so sign up as soon as possible if you want to join us![CLAIM YOUR TICKET] Once all 12 tickets have been claimed, students are still welcome to attend by purchasing their own ticket. However, we cannot guarantee that additional tickets will be located near our group. 🚗 Getting to The K We will carpool together from Commission Church. Meet at: Commission Church
Departure: 6:00 PM SHARP Please arrive early enough to get checked in and ready to leave. Whether you've been coming to youth for years or this is your first Wednesday, this is a great night to invite a friend and experience what Commission Youth is all about. We'll provide the hot dogs and s'mores. You just bring yourself, a friend, and a hoodie! North Texas Youth Ministries
Youth Alive Director Jackson, in his heart of hearts, is a revivalist. He has witnessed moments of revival within youth ministry and on the campus, but is believing for the fullness of it across North Texas. He is a campus missionary to sports teams, lunch rooms, and has helped plant Bible clubs in one of the largest high schools in America. Through his ministry, Jackson has seen unchurched students saved, baptized, and healed! Our schools are the spiritual battleground of the nation, “If we lose there, we lose everywhere else.” His desire is to train, develop, and send out youth pastors who’s hearts would be broken for the campus, so revival would invade schools in every community through the church! FAQ: Can my student invite a friend? Absolutely! In fact, we encourage it. Students attending Convention for the first time receive 50% off registration, making the cost just $60. What if my family can't afford Convention? We never want finances to keep a student from encountering God. Scholarship assistance is available. Complete the Scholarship Application linked above, and we'll work with you to make sure your student can attend. When is payment due? Convention payment is due by November 1. Beginning November 2, a $25 late fee will be added. Where do we meet for departure? Meet at Commission Church on Friday, November 20. Membership Class: Find Your Place at Commission Church If you’re new to Commission Church and have decided that this is a church community you want to be part of, Membership Class is your next step. Membership is more than having your name on a list. It is a commitment to a local church community, its mission, and the people God has placed around you. Over three Sunday mornings, we’ll talk about who Commission Church is, what we believe, where we’re going, and what it means to belong here. TLDR Membership Class meets October 4, 11, and 18 from 9:00–9:45 a.m. Plan to attend all three classes. This class is for those who are new to Commission Church or want to learn more about committing to our church community and mission. Prayer Service and Youth Time Change
TLDR Commission Youth and our Midweek Prayer Gathering now both meet starting at 6:30pm. We’re moving to a later time to better serve working individuals, families, and parents dropping off students for youth. Our prayer gathering is becoming a more structured and interactive experience with guided prayer, worship, and community connection. Midweek Is Changing at Commission Church Starting next Wednesday, both Commission Youth and our Midweek Prayer Gathering will meet from 6:30. For a while now, we’ve recognized that our previous 5:30pm start time created challenges for many families and working individuals trying to get across the city after work, school, practices, and dinner. We want midweek ministry to be accessible, life-giving, and realistic for the people we’re trying to serve. This adjustment creates space for more people to participate in both youth ministry and prayer together. A Better Rhythm for Families Commission Youth will continue meeting every Wednesday night, but now with an earlier start time. At the same time, we are intentionally relaunching and reshaping our Midweek Prayer Gathering into a more structured and meaningful experience. For many parents, Wednesday nights often become a drop-off and pick-up routine or a waiting period filled with unstructured dead time. We want to create an opportunity for those moments to become spiritually meaningful, too. Instead of simply waiting, parents and adults can now gather together for prayer, connection, worship, and encouragement while students are in youth service. Why Prayer Matters + A Real Story One of the things we love about prayer gatherings is how they connect real life to real faith. Alison S. is a great example of this. Many times, she has come into prayer carrying burdens from conversations she had with coworkers earlier that same day. Her coworkers know she belongs to a praying community. They know there are people who will stand with them in prayer. Many times a month, she comes with their requests because she has built a reputation for caring for her co-workers. That’s the kind of culture we want to continue building at Commission Church. A place where people know they are not alone.
A place where burdens are shared.
A place where faith becomes active in everyday life. Yes! We will have volunteers that have cleared background checks and that work in our pre-school rooms at church running that part of the event. We have an art station and well-supervised bounce houses for them to play on. Q. I don’t really want to run around, will there be something for me to do? A. Of course! We have Wheel of Fortune and other card games ready for you. Q. Will there be a dessert competition this year? A. No, there will not be.
