Love That Lasts | Dr. Fel Bagunu | Song of Solomon 6–8
📱 OUR CULTURE SAYS WHEN SOMETHING GETS OLD, SLOW, OR DIFFICULT, UPGRADE IT. BUT WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE BRING THAT SAME MINDSET INTO MARRIAGE?
As Commission Church concludes our journey through Song of Solomon, Dr. Fel Bagunu challenges us to rediscover God’s vision for covenant love: a love that keeps choosing, keeps pursuing, and keeps giving grace.
❤️ “Place me like a seal over your heart… for love is as strong as death.” Song of Solomon 8:6
💍 CHOOSE EACH OTHER AGAIN
Over time, marriage can drift from passionate love into simply sharing bills, calendars, responsibilities, and a roof.
Song of Solomon gives us a different picture. Lasting love requires an ongoing decision to pursue and honor one another.
Don’t just remember why you chose your spouse.
Choose them again today.
🔒 AN UNBREAKABLE SEAL
“Many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown it.” — Song of Solomon 8:7
Financial pressure. Health struggles. Parenting. Exhaustion. Disappointment.
Every marriage eventually encounters floods.
God’s design for marriage isn’t a disposable contract that gets thrown away when life becomes difficult. It is a covenant designed to provide security through every season.
🏠 BUILD A LEGACY OF GRACE
Your spouse is still being shaped into the image of Jesus. So are you. You will both make mistakes. You will both fall short. And you will both need grace.
What would happen if our marriages and homes became places overflowing with the same grace Jesus has given us?
✝️ Jesus doesn’t trade us in when we fall short.
The Gospel reveals an unshakable, sacrificial covenant between Christ and His people. Because we have received His grace, we can extend grace to the people closest to us.
Whether you’re married, single, widowed, newly married, or walking through a difficult season, this message points us toward a love rooted in Jesus that can endure the storms of life.
Choose again.
Honor again.
Forgive again.
Give grace again.
❤️ Be a person of grace, and begin at home.

Missions Highlight: Update from Colombia
This week did not go as planned, but así es la vida a veces. Ministry and cross cultural living requires a lot of adaptability!
Last week I flew to the coast to learn and help teach kids in school on sexual abuse awareness with my dear friend Rachel, who serves with ProtectMe Project.
But due to paramilitary activity schools closed for a few days. So we did some virtual teachings with parents, time was spent with ministry friends in the house and many schools were interested in having more presentations done at their schools in the future.
Overall it was a win! But in a way none of us expected...sometimes things don't go how we plan or end how we think so it can be easy to overlook what God is doing.
May we always ask, Lord show me where you're at in this moment and situation.
Help me see what you see. Amen?
