Prepare the Way | Ps. David Stanley | Song of Solomon 3:6–11
👑 THE KING IS COMING. ARE YOU READY?
We prepare for weddings, careers, vacations, retirement, and nearly every major moment in life. But Scripture points us toward a day far greater than any of them: the day we see King Jesus face to face.
In Song of Solomon 3:6–11, a royal wedding procession appears on the horizon. The waiting is over. The king is approaching his bride with intentionality, protection, extravagance, and joy.
But David challenges us to see beyond Solomon’s wedding to the ultimate celebration believers are waiting for:
🔥 Jesus is coming for His people.
📖 The Honor of the Marriage Covenant
God treats covenant, marriage, and the wedding celebration with tremendous honor. Solomon prepares for his bride with great intentionality. Nothing about his arrival is careless or accidental.
The procession is protected.
The materials are costly.
The king is crowned.
The bride is waiting.
And the king approaches with joy.
This picture reminds us that what God values should matter deeply to us too.

• What Solomon’s royal wedding procession teaches us about preparation
• Why real love involves intentionality, protection, and sacrifice
• How Jesus provides security for His people
• Why the Gospel is the ultimate demonstration of grace

• Why Christians can look forward with hope to Christ’s return
• The question every person must answer: Are you ready for the King?
✝️ Jesus is the greater King.
Jesus has already come once and paid our debt with His blood. Through His death and resurrection, forgiveness is available and our sins can be washed away.
And Scripture gives Christians an incredible hope: King Jesus is coming again.
He will not return to endure another cross. He returns as King of Kings.
Whether you are married, single, searching, skeptical, or have followed Jesus for decades, the most important relationship in your life is ultimately the same:
Do you know Jesus, and does He know you?
⏰ That question matters now because life can change in an instant. Today is an opportunity to place your faith in Jesus, receive His grace, and begin living with hope and anticipation for the coming King.
👑 Prepare the way. The King is coming.
